Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By visiting, registering for or using Ceylona, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from them. If you use Ceylona for a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business. You must be at least 18 years old to open a seller account or enter a purchase contract.

2. Our role

Ceylona is a marketplace that helps independent sellers offer products to buyers. Unless a listing expressly says otherwise, the seller—not Ceylona—is the seller of record and is responsible for the product, description, quality, safety, legality, fulfilment and after-sales support. Ceylona may facilitate payments, communication and dispute handling.

3. Accounts

• Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
• Protect your password and promptly report suspected unauthorised access.
• Do not impersonate another person, create deceptive accounts or transfer an account without permission.
• We may verify identity, contact information or business details and may restrict an account while checks are completed.

4. Marketplace transactions

A buyer makes an offer to purchase when checkout is submitted. The transaction is confirmed when payment is authorised and an order confirmation is issued. We or the seller may cancel when an item is unavailable, a price is clearly erroneous, payment fails, fraud is suspected or fulfilment would be unlawful. Applicable taxes, duties and delivery charges are shown where reasonably possible; international buyers remain responsible for import charges imposed by their destination country.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not interfere with the platform, scrape it at scale, bypass security or introduce malicious code.
• Do not use Ceylona for fraud, money laundering, harassment, discrimination or unlawful activity.
• Do not move an active Ceylona transaction off-platform to avoid fees or protections.
• Do not copy another user’s content or misuse Ceylona branding.

6. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Ceylona a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, adapt, translate and display that content for operating, improving and promoting the marketplace. You confirm that you have the rights needed to grant this licence. Ceylona’s name, design, software and original content remain protected.

7. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Ceylona at any time, subject to completing open orders and obligations. We may remove content or restrict, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, investigate misconduct, address unpaid fees or enforce these Terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the action and offer a review route.

8. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Ceylona is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, seller conduct, user-generated content, courier delays or events outside reasonable control. Any aggregate platform liability relating to a transaction is limited to the greater of the platform fees paid for that transaction or LKR 10,000, except where law requires otherwise.

9. Law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Courts of competent jurisdiction in Sri Lanka will have jurisdiction, without limiting mandatory consumer rights available where a buyer lives. We may update these Terms for legal, security or service changes. Material changes will be notified reasonably in advance where practicable.
