In the maker's words

This is made by hand in Kegalle, near the elephant orphanage, using elephant-dung paper and recycled cotton pulp. The fibre is washed, boiled and pressed by hand, and no tree is cut for a sheet of it. Because every piece is made by hand, small differences in colour and finish are part of it — no two come out quite the same.
