In the maker's words
This is cut and polished by hand in the coconut triangle around Gampaha, using coconut shell and coir. It is cut from shells that would otherwise be burnt, sanded through four grades and waxed. The colour comes out as natural shell. Because every piece is made by hand, small differences in colour and finish are part of it — no two come out quite the same.
