In the maker's words

This is woven by hand in the hill country around Kandy, using handspun cotton and natural indigo. The cloth is worked on a pit loom, so the selvedge is a little different every length. The colour comes out as undyed cream and madder red. Because every piece is made by hand, small differences in colour and finish are part of it — no two come out quite the same.
